Our Story

I’ve always cared about how I fuel my body. As an endurance athlete, someone who trains consistently and spends a lot of time outside, I’m always looking for ways to perform better—whether that’s through nutrition, hydration, or just building better daily habits.

At the end of 2024, everything shifted.

When my wife was 19 weeks pregnant with our twins, her water broke 21 weeks early. What followed was about six months spent mostly in hospitals. The first 10 weeks, we were living there while she was on inpatient bedrest. Then after the twins were born at 29 weeks, we split our time between two different NICUs during a four-month stay.

All while still working.

It was a lot.

At the same time, I was training for two races: the Bonneville Backyard Ultra and the UTMB Speedgoat 50k.

Coffee has always been part of my routine, but during that stretch I needed more than just caffeine. I needed something that could help me stay focused, keep my energy steady, and not leave me crashing halfway through the day. On top of that, hospital coffee wasn’t great—and the creamers and sweeteners available weren’t something I wanted to rely on.

I wanted something simple. Clean. Effective.

Something that actually helped me show up.

I remember thinking—why isn’t there a coffee that does more? Something that tastes good, isn’t loaded with sugar or artificial ingredients, and actually supports performance instead of just giving you a quick hit of caffeine.

I started experimenting by adding different supplements into my coffee, but it quickly became a hassle—too many ingredients, too much time, and not something you could realistically do every day.

That’s when it clicked.

Why can’t coffee do more? Why can’t it help support strength, recovery, and resilience—not just energy?

That idea turned into what is now Morning Grind Coffee Co.

What started as something I was making for myself during a really demanding season of life became our Power Blend Instant Performance Coffee.

I truly appreciate you being here and being part of it. I hope you enjoy it and that it helps you take on your daily grind, whatever that looks like.

Cheers,
